    a training manual a number of years ago and has trained others to be trainers. Any concepts, ideas, opinions lacking a specific citation are derived from years of experience. Like  all professional trainers, I learned many concepts and gained many ideas from others but after so many years, most of us do not remember from whom we learned them! Also,  like many of the TPS writers, I have significant expertise in the learning process, which is also discussed in this paper.] Introduction Every organization offers some type  of training for their employees. That may be as simple as an orientation for new employees or as complex as programs intended to develop leadership skills for attitude changes.  There are also any number of models that can be used to design and deliver training programs. Some of these are hit-and-miss, haphazard planning processes. Some are based on years  of experience. Some follow a specific model. The Systems Approach to Training is a model that takes the trainer from the first step to the last and back again.  This is a model that is based on analysis and continuous evaluation of what is being included in the training program and then, the success of the training program.  This paper offers a description of the Systems Approach to Training, the phases and steps involved, the cyclical nature of the training process and the continual analysis of the  process. System is defined and described. Each component in the Systems Approach to Training is comprehensively described. Additionally, the definition of training itself is provided because there is little sense  in discussing training without an understanding of what training means. A short section on the learning process/styles is provided to demonstrate another aspect of training that must be considered. Finally,
