    A 5 page paper proposal to assess a tool supply company for increased diversity in its recruiting. Project phases include assessing CEO commitment, human capital, corporate communications and supplier diversity separately, combining results to gain an overall view but keeping divisional results separate as well to facilitate closer examination. Human capital and supplier diversity will be more quantitative, but CEO commitment and corporate communications will need to be assessed using qualitative tools such as the case study.     than only a "nice idea" in todays business environment, increasingly it is becoming a characteristic of the nations most successful companies. The purpose here to identify and assess the  goals of an organizational assessment designed to facilitate greater diversity in recruitment for a tool supply company. Project Rationale Though it may be  a stereotype, it seems that the broad area of tool supply is a bastion of the white male that has little interest in changing. In nearly all other industries,  "because weve always done it that way" no longer is the poorest excuse for not giving diversity the attention it deserves, indeed it is no excuse at all. Diversity  in tool supply has not received the same amount of attention it has in other industries, likely because it is not as visible an industry as others and does not  operate in a high-profile area of business in general. It is highly unlikely that any consumer, religious or activist group will focus on a tool supply business to make  a statement for or against diversity, whether or not they seek to define it. Rather, in tool supply there is no overt political  or social reason to pursue diversity. A tool supply company will pursue greater diversity solely because it is good business sense and more accurately represents the character and qualities  of the local community in which the business operates. Many businesses have found over the years that diversity is good business, that recruiting  and retaining a more diverse workforce enables the company to be more responsive to all of its customers, not only those with whom it is most familiar or with those
