Largely, the magazine is a fashion and beauty magazine; the main aspects which no doubt attract readers interested in  fashion and beauty. Throughout the issues however, there are some mixed messages which seem to indicate that attractive components in women also include those beyond beauty and fashion. While some  articles state that women with confidence and "fascinating minds" may be good role models for the readers, largely the magazine focuses on beauty tips which are able to conceal "flaws"  in women. While this may be disconcerting to anyone who may be reading the magazine in hopes of a realistic portrayal of women, the letters and opinions printed in the  magazine received from the readers actually reflect a reading audience which is satisfied with its scope. In Frederic Fekkais article entitled "Simply Irresistible:  If you really want to know what a man finds utterly attractive in the opposite sex, just ask him. We did" appearing in the September 2002 issue of "In Style"  magazine, beauty expert and stylist Fekkai talks about the "inner" aspects of women that men find attractive. Fekkai begins his article stating that women come into his salon everyday and  ask him to make them beautiful but he states that "I cant help but wonder if these women realize how attractive they are - before my shears touch their hair"  (Fekkai 351). Although Fekkai admits that "looks matter" "at first", he continues his article explaining what men really find attractive. Fekkai categorizes the areas of attraction including "shes a flirt",  "she has a fascinating mind", "she knows how to move", "she lives large" and "she keeps us guessing" among others. Regardless of the category however, while Fekkai seems to be
