his euphoria over his impending marriage and his first day on his new job with Faith Community Hospital. He confidently approached his new position without the traditional first-day jitters,
and was not about to let a little precipitation metaphorically rain on his parade. However, a meeting with Hospital CEO Pat was nothing short of a cloudburst as Chris
was immediately inundated with the many problems currently facing the religiously affiliated hospital, which was patient rather than profit based. In order to more fully address these issues, Pat
was calling an all-member staff meeting in two weeks, and assigned Chris to the formidable task of providing "a strategic overview that offers a look from three angles: whats going
on now, what we can do about it, and what we should do about it." In other words, Chris needed to develop a case study due the following Monday
that would address the main topics that the meeting needed to cover, which Pat described as consisting of "organizational processes, ethics issues, and communication systems." Despite the humbling meeting,
Chris embarked on his challenging assignment by quietly whispering to himself for reassurance, "Rainy days and Mondays still dont get me down. Let it pour." The major
problem facing Faith Community Hospital can be found within its mission statement, which reads, "With the foundation and commitment of our spiritual heritage and values, our mission is to promote
the health and well-being of the people in the communities we serve through a comprehensive continuum of services provided in collaboration with the partners who share the same vision and
