    the fact that most who live in a community do not seem to trust those in charge. Still others argue that the elected officials know best how to choose the  greater good for the masses and make decisions which benefit the most people. Somewhere in between these answers lies the truth, one has to think. This truth does not lie  with the assumption that those elected always act on the behalf of their constituents. Sociologists have borne out that mankind is a complex organism which is partly biological response and  part intellectual reasoning. Unfortunately, the intellectual reasoning is often clouded by the biological. In many cases, the method of choosing leaders and the methods these leaders choose in making their  decisions seem to based mostly on the biological. However, community organization is not harmful nor detrimental to humans; it is highly necessary to their survival. Humans need social interaction. They  are born needing the sense of touch and compassion. Without it humans die. This is a fact, and has been proven scientifically. Therefore, one may extrapolate that without a community  where one may make personal contacts, that sense of touch, literally and figuratively, is not gained. Secondly, though mankind no longer pits himself against nature as he once did,  nor needs to scavenge for food, he still needs the collective safety of the pack or herd. This banding together for common good meant that certain points of independence would  be given up. This most humans did as a willing sacrifice for the comfort and strength of the group. This philosophy still stands today. Together we are greater than we  are individually. The old saying about two heads being better than one still rings true to this day. Problems are solved quicker, advances and learning are facilitated on a more
