contains information found on the Internet. While one of the pieces of coding information is necessary for the final product, there are copyright concerns. Clearly, no one should be downloading  information from the Internet and expect to sell it with no concern about the validity of that action. John is right to be upset. Interestingly, but not surprisingly, part of  the case includes the admonition that the company has never had clear and concise rules or protocols, something that suggests that the current fiasco is one that is likely to  happen. Through research, Lynn finds out that the software had been produced by Visionary Software, a firm that claims it does not know how its product was uploaded to  the Internet. Also, Visionary checks the coding and finds it is altered anyway but explains to Lynn that he must report the situation to his legal counsel. Lynn tells John  who in turn tells Eugene Froom, who is angry. Questions to come from this case study are: "What should John Boorman do? What is his obligation in relation to Lynns  conduct? What is his responsibility to Eugene Froom, the company president? To Visionary software? To Santa Barbara Equipments customers." Ethical and practical considerations are numerous. John Boorman is the liaison  between upper management and the technical workers who made the blunder. He is obligated to the president of the firm in respect to all of the work that his underlings  do. He cannot simply point fingers because there is a new employee on the books who made a mistake. Also, because the shop had been run in a sloppy fashion,  it is not a surprise that something like this had happened. Not only must John take responsibility for the problem, but he should implement new managerial procedures immediately. Quality control
