These 8 people have come together to form a new company, all apart form one have to  cope with a change in role as well as the change in the company they work for. This is the first change that has to be dealt with. It  may be argued that these 8 people who have left FlexiPart Ltd and Vaculon plc may have an advantage over those who have stayed as they will not have issues  such as survivors guilt and suffer form increased lack of trust. However, having suffered form cut backs once this can have a longer term psychological effect on an employee which  can result in increased distrust in future employment and a higher degree of reservation granting that loyalty and commitment (Mishra, 1998). If we look at this initial situation the  main stakeholders are the new employees. There are some major strengths. A major issue where stress is considered in terms of the reactions that will be seen and the results  of the psychological reactions to that change reflects the level of control the employee feels they have (Bilton et al, 2000). In this case as these are the founding members  of the company, even though this may mean a pay decrease they are also likely to feel that they are in control. This will probably result in a positive response  seeing the change as a challenge rather than a threat. There are weaknesses of this situation, the lack of history in the company may be a strength for developing a  productive positive culture, but is also a blank canvass and can create fear. The opportunities are for potential greater income and greater control than before, but the lack of orders
