Introduction In a hypothetical consulting firm that is hired by a financial  firm to investigate a mutual fund, a marketing plan for the fund is to be developed. The name of the fund is the Environmental Sensitive Growth Fund. A target market  analysis should be created by the consulting firm for the demographic location chosen, which is the entire country of Canada. First, a student  writing on this subject should define the type of fund before selecting a target market. The fund seems to be geared towards environmentally friendly companies and it is most obviously  a growth fund. A growth fund has the major goal of long term capital growth and contain products which offer substantial potential gains over time; however, these funds vary a  great deal in price during bull and bear markets (Scott, 1988). Thus, it appears that Environmental Sensitive Growth Fund (ESGF) may be unpredictable because it is a growth fund and  the market has been rather volatile lately. Also, it embraces environmental products which can also be somewhat risky. II. Target Market  In deciding on which segmenting dimensions to utilize, broad consumer markets should be looked at and segmentation may take place either by  geography or demographics or both. In Canada, or any country for that matter, a target group for this particular growth fund would likely be young, upwardly mobile individuals. The reasoning
