This has allowed for increased development of products for niche markets and companies whos product  may have a limited market can now be exported ands shipped longer distances than ever before in order to enhance the companies profits. In conjunction with this increase in globalisation  there is also a decrease in the barriers to trade in many industries as well as better and more cost effective production methods. However this increased potential is completely worthless  unless the potential customers know about the product want to buy it and can find it to buy. This is the job of the marketing department and the reason for  the formulation of a marketing plan. In the case of Acme Fencing Inc, they have just developed a new product which they believe to be extremely cost effective with  a high level of performance, but now hey need to finish developing the product and then sell it to their customers. There  are different aspects of a marketing plan that can be censored, these are known as the 4 Ps product, price, promotion and placement (Kotler, 2000).
