Because of the airline hijackings and other modes of transportation being put on alert, Americans have put a halt on  their travel plans. Creative marketing strategies by the travel industry and indeed, many other industries are of necessity being used to entice their customers back. TRAVEL: THE AFTERMATH  After the tragedy of September 11, 2001, people all but stopped travelling. The fear of another terrorist attack left the majority of Americans feeling they would rather drive than  fly or take any other type of public transportation. The only people who were actually using airlines and trains were those who had to do so for their jobs.  Vacations and other non-emergency travel have virtually been put on hold. This has not only impacted the transportation industry such as airlines, trains, and cruise lines, but  the ripples have spread to encompass the fringe industries as well. Hotels, car-rental agencies, airline-catering services, have all been hit financially. Many businesses provide services just to the airlines;  one business owner doubted his business could stay afloat until the end of the year. He supplies tires to commercial airliners. Everywhere we look on the news we
