    first all treatment for erectile dysfunction, managed to gain a significant first mover advantage which established the brand name. Today the company is facing increased competition, two other branded drugs  on the market, and within the next decade the company will need to compete with generic versions of its own drug. The company has been influential in transforming the way  in which erectile dysfunction is perceived within the marketplace, and making drug treatments not only a viable market, but one that is highly profitable with a market worth in excess  of $5 billion a year, which is expected to increase. Furthermore, despite this large market, it is estimated between 85% and 90% of men with this problem remain undiagnosed, indicating  that there is still a largely untapped market. With increasing acceptability of the problem, and general shifts with in social values towards more overt sexual conversations and fashions, as seen  with the popularity of the book 50 Shades of Grey, there are still potential to gain more market and increase revenues. It is suggested that Pfizer undertake a new approach  to marketing, appealing to the partners of men suffered from erectile dysfunction, rather than marketing directly to its target market. By marketing to influencers Pfizer may appeal to men who  would not otherwise come forward. It is undertaken in a tasteful manner, in line with social trends, such as appealing to women with images that may be associated with the  sexual novel 50 Shades of Grey, not only will sales potentially increased, the brand name will be further entrenched in terms of its premium or superior position, and help it  deal with increased competition in future years. This differentiation may also be aided with further research and development to help create new ways the drug may be taken which would
