(Denton meta.htm).  From these simple illustrations we can note that this particular production, with support from a unique Broadway stage that is known as the Circle in a Square, is a very  unusual play. In the following paper we examine some of the elements in the production, discussing theater space, playing areas, and performance. Theater Space As mentioned, the stage  is known as the Circle in the Square Theatre. This is a very intriguing design for it allows the audience to be right in the midst of things as the  seating is spread out on three different sides. And, the fact that a circle in the middle, the pool, is the main focus o the play certainly helps to create  the environment obviously desired by Zimmerman. One critic notes that, in regards to this new stage for the production, that "Zimmerman has made only a few minor changes  in the shows presentation, mostly to take advantage of the opportunities the new space represents. While the proscenium Second Stage Theatre tended to slightly detach you from the action, at  Circle in the Square, you cant help but be a part of it," indicating that the stage truly helps to immerse the audience in the play (Murray Metamorphoses.html).
