    However, in recent years the company has faced problems, the image has become worn-out and tastes hand fashions have moved on. The consider the company we can use a range  of models to analysis the current position and recommend some changes. PEST Political influences In the political environment in many area McDonalds  has an advantage being so strong associated with the US. However, this has aloe been a downfall is some countries. The unpopular war in Iraq and also the association with  corporate capitalism has made them a target in some areas, with a drop in business and some potential customers boycotting the firm (Suppiah, 2003).  Another example is on May Day in London 2000 a store in city was vandalised and practically destroyed due to this perception. This may not be so important  to the company due to the small proportion of the incidents, but for the franchisees which operate in these restaurants. Political barriers  breaking down have also made expansion more possible with more countries supporting capitalist market models. One example may be seen as the McDonalds in Russia (Buckley, 1995). Economic Influences  In terms of economic influences, the increasing global wealth has supported the intentional expansion. McDonalds are now in many countries that are now able to support the demand for fast  food as a result of economic growth. Again we can use Russia as an example, as well as many African nations. However,  we can also argue that in most areas fast food in general is seen as being elastic, meaning where there are falls in disposable income there may also be a
