viewed the company favorably despite the financial issues it has encountered. Therefore, it is viewed as a fine company and does attract investors, at least to an extent. * According  to Ellen Blakes financial report, the balance sheet is healthy. She also notes that cash flow is acceptable. * Most of the products are performing well. * Sports is very  popular so this firm is certainly in a niche that can be potentially lucrative. One strength is therefore related to the types of products to which Mercury is attached. *  This firm seems to have a solid reputation and while some performance issues have arisen in the recent past, it remains a stable company which likely provides a great deal  of interest to investors. * This seems to be a firm that is well organized, particularly as it respects manufacturing. It has segmented itself well. * Marketing and advertising have  been well conducted and future campaigns look promising. * Sales are quite strong in Europe. * Mercury International, Ltd. appears to be a company in good form that is rather  stable, and does not have significant problems. Weaknesses * The firm did not do well financially during the fourth quarter of 2004. * Some product  lines-such as insoles and apparel-have underperformed. This is troubling and may be indicative of future difficulties. * The ramifications of the decline in Shoestuff sales is problematic. While this is  a temporary problem, it is something that may be considered a negative for Mercury. * Its attachment to higher end stores does limit its market. While this can be positive  in some respects, it does also create boundaries for this firm that has not benefited from all possible opportunities. * This company is not as well known as its competitors.
