Indeed, the extent to which long-ago computer hacker Bill Gates and his once-upon-a-time insignificant company have grown into the proverbial bottomless pit of power and greed speaks to  the very essence of capitalist quest; that he and Microsoft have now reached a pinnacle of ethical business practices indicates how even in a society where such behavior is not  only applauded but eagerly sought out, sometimes the envelope of acceptability gets pushed just a bit too far. II. MONOPOLIZING THE INDUSTRY  In a world where money is all-powerful and those who possess great wealth are revered as being God-like, Bill Gates stands on the top of the highest monetary mountain.  Clearly, he does not like to lose, which is the primary motivation behind the type of business techniques he employs with his company. However, while the particular management style  upon which Gates has relied has proven effective for the most part, it has also rendered the multi-billionaire untold headaches when it comes to addressing fair business tactics. Not  only have Gates impenetrable strategies caused both his employees and the average consumer considerable grief, but they have also created animosity between and among his competitors who cry foul to  such underhanded strategy. The antitrust lawsuit slapped on the Microsoft Chairman and Chief Executive Officer by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) and twenty state attorney generals has caused  Gates to feel the strength of that money mountain crumble just a little bit beneath his feet. Claiming that Gates manipulative manner of "using monopolistic practices" (Anonymous, 1998, p.  PG) is an overt attempt to control the Internet and related software products, the lawsuit set in motion a much-needed precedence when it comes to the very real threats of
