    (Second Edition) is best done through a comparison of firstly their system requirements which are the basics needed in order to run the system and secondly the features of the  systems. The systems are based on the evolution of the Windows packages in which Windows 98 was originally an upgrade from Windows 95; Windows 2000 and ME (Millennium) was further  an upgrade from Windows 98 and Windows NT; and lastly, Windows XP is still again above Windows 2000 but incorporating all of the top features of those operating systems which  preceded it in addition to more comprehensive features regarding reliability, remote access and network administration among others. Not surprisingly then, each system higher within the evolution of the Windows family  consists of considerably more features but also considerably higher system requirements in order to run the operating system. Professional versions also include more features which are dedicated to network capabilities  and business applications and therefore the requirements and features are considerably more so than those of any Home versions of the product. Regarding the system requirements for each Windows operating  system, those for Windows 98SE are the least in comparison. Windows 98SE minimum system requirements are: a 66 MHz 486 DX computer with 16 MB memory (although a Pentium-class processor  with 200 MHz or higher with 32 MB of RAM is recommended by most facilities); a VGA monitor; mouse or compatible pointing device; keyboard; floppy disk drive or CD-ROM drive;  and, hard disk space of at least 195 MB (Indiana, 2003, Requirements). The Windows 2000 Professional operating system has minimum requirements which are considerably larger than those of Windows 98SE.  The minimum system requirements for Windows 2000 Professional are: a 133 MHz or higher Pentium-compatible CPU with 64 MB of RAM (although more memory is usually recommended to improve responsiveness);
