    months due to the recent terrorist attacks in New York and the subsequent retaliation by the United States into Afghanistan and the intensification of the ongoing struggle within the Israeli  and Palestinian conflict. American politicians, negotiators and peace makers have been struggling to maintain a balance between diplomacy and justice and their relationships with all of the countries in the  major oil producing areas in the world are important to international economics. The prioritization of the problems remains a difficult one as pressures from the Jewish population within the United  States would like the Bush administration to continue its support of the Israeli cause while the United Nations continues to pressure the Israelis to back down on their constant disregard  for international law and human rights violations. At the same time, the pressure to find the terrorists responsible for the terrorist attacks in New York remains at the forefront of  the minds of Americans and the international troops currently serving in that area. Nevertheless, there is still the problems which were never resolved with Iraq during the Gulf War Crisis  one decade ago which continues to haunt Americans. Israel was once referred to as the "51st state in the Union" but this is  no longer the case. Since the War of Independence in Israel in 1948 in which Israeli soldiers where armed mainly by Soviet weapons, the United States has been the major  supplier of military technology which has given Israel the upper hand in its struggle against the neighbouring Arab states (Podhoretz, 1998). This alliance was not easy to maintain as the  United States wanted to continue its relationship with the neighbouring oil producing Arabs states, especially Saudi Arabia and many critics felt that Washingtons constant support of Israel might hinder this
