A 12 page paper outlining a business plan for a mobile Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) service. MobileM is a young company providing mobile MRI service on a contract basis to smaller hospitals and Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) that for whatever reason choose not to purchase and maintain their own systems. For some, the cost of equipment is prohibitive in this age of intense scrutiny of health care costs; others prefer not to be locked into using outdated equipment when next-generation machines are available. Many of the larger hospitals that purchased the bulky and claustrophobic machines of the past now cannot establish sufficient business cases for purchasing the newer and open-tube models that are much easier for patients to endure. In most cases they can, however, justify contract use of outside equipment. The plan includes an organizational chart, costs and a SWOT analysis of MobileM's position in the young and rapidly-growing mobile MRI industry. Bibliography lists 1 source.
