    must consider the agendas of the global economic market. The international community and its affiliated global market have grown in recent decades as the age of technology, globalization and transnational  corporations has arrived. Alliances of nation states such as the European Union (EU) have strict guidelines and international laws pertaining to economic, political and social policies. Nation states interested in  becoming members of economic alliances must conform to the laws and policies expected. Economic opportunities are considerably more available to nation states that have a democratic political structure, recognize civil  and human rights, have global economic considerations in addition to other international concerns such as environmental laws and restrictions. Nation states can no longer apply national economic policies without consideration  of the global opportunities and alliances needed in order to prosper in modern day society. The International Community As U.S. President George W. Bush launched his war against in Afghanistan  in October 2001, he stated that "We are supported by the will of the world" which others within the global economic community has considered as the "international community" for many  decades. The "will" of the international community has a great deal of impact on the social, economic and political policies which are many within the individual countries and nation states  of the world. However, while many politicians use the term liberally, the use and impact of the "international community" is considerably more difficult to define (Annan et al, 2002). Kofi  A. Annan, Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) and recipient of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize recently approached on the topic of the international community began by stating that  "ours is a world in which no individual, and no country, exists in isolation. All of us live simultaneously in our own communities and in the world at large" (Annan
