For all the energy and effort any organization puts into its management efforts, those efforts will be useless unless external elements are also  calculated as a part of the larger management equation. External factors have the potential to serve as either supportive factors or instruments of sabotage in terms of ultimate outcomes. Such  factors can range, depending on the organization and its business or social enterprise, from regulatory factors, economic conditions, national attitudes, political climate, technology advancement and much more. Add to that  the additional complications associated with operating in a nation that is not the organizations "home" and such matters receive a greater measure of complication. Just as people do not  operate independent of their peers, businesses and other organizations do not operate independently from the environment in which they exist. The most basic fact is that management, smart management, must  always factor in the issues and occurrences that are outside of their realms control. In order to have a positive influence on both quality and productivity, not  to mention profitability or success in the organizations mission, factors that influence the "world" that surrounds the project, product, or service must also be considered as essential components contributing to  the end result.
