    will conduct internal and external research on the causes of the issues and present recommendations. The Juicy Red Tomato Company is a tomato grower operating in Florida. The company  has been in operation for 15 years, during which time it has grown at a rate of about 5 percent per year. Costs were stable for the first 10 years  of the companys existence, but have grown by 2.5 - 4 percent over the past 3 years. The company attributes the increased costs to unexpected temperature drops, pests, and increased  labor costs. The company tends to promote long-term employees to positions of management, i.e., employees rise through the ranks. However, the company is losing personnel at all levels. For  instance, over the past year, several long-term, key personnel have left the company, saying that they had "no future" at the company. On the bright side, the Juicy Red Tomato  company is poised for an increased rate of growth, through possible expansion of the business. After preliminary interviews of employees and managers and research of the produce industry and business  cases with similar challenges, the consultants have formed a hypothesis; Juicy Red Tomato Company needs to invest in retention not only of its managerial personnel but also front-line production employees.  In addition, the company needs to improve communication between production and operations, possibly by enhancing technology used by the company as a whole. To address the problem issues, we need  to consider the organizational model used by this company and what research reports as effective in terms of organizational structure; the driving forces and conditions of the produce industry; and  what research tells us about retaining managers and employees.
