    This ancient society was founded nearly five thousand years ago, experts state, and is still great in its influence among Arab nations. But what makes Egypt so special, influential, and  a force to reckon with? Egypt is located in the middle of Africa and the Middle East along the Nile River. Home to some of the worlds oldest manmade  structures, the Pyramids and the Sphinx stands as true testaments to the ingenuity and willpower of man. Egypt was one of the first civilizations to have a written language, the  student can add. Egypt is said to be three times the size of New Mexico in the United States, and is bordered on its sides by the Gaza Strip, Israel,  Libya, and the Sudan(Marsot 1985). The population as of June 2002 was around 70,712,345 people (Marsot 1985). The student will want to add that the climate is that of a  desert land, mostly remaining hot and dry with mild winters. Considering where the country is located, then, it is not difficult to believe that the Nation is in upheaval over  the Israeli treatment of the Arabs living in the Gaza Strip. The religion which is most prevalent there is Muslim. In the modern era, the student will wish to  mention, Egypt has become a moderate Arab nation. In recent history of the last ten to twenty years, Mubarak, the president of Egypt, was able to consolidate power and as  such began to turn most of his term of office toward improving conditions domestically. Egypt has been a partner with the United States in seeking out terrorists within its borders  and expelling them. During this time, too, Egypt became one of the leaders in the Middle East for high-tech businesses and fully entered into the global marketplace. What is extremely
