    Republican or Democrat will be the next leader of the country--and their fears are generally aligned with the party they gravitate towards. For example, Republicans want George W. to win,  not because he is the quintessential presidential candidate but rather because he is aligned with many views they too hold. For example, Republicans want a reduction in taxes as they  believe in the free market and that they should be free to choose. In fact, a book by the name Free To Choose has been published in support of the  free market by noted economist Milton Friedman and his wife Rose. More Libertarian than Republican, the couple supports the view that the people should have more of a say in  their own affairs, and that government should be decidedly smaller. Government should not be able to tell people what to do. Rather, it should be the other way around. And  then there is the other side. There is the view that government should implement more controls and that the poor people in America today exemplify what is wrong with the  country. That is seemingly how Michael Parenti, and others, see the society. Thus, the other view is that the government should not grow smaller. Rather, government programs need to be  developed in order to help those who cannot help themselves. Further, this position suggests that the rich run the country in reality as they own the capital, they donate to  political campaigns and so forth. Nothing can get done if the nation continues to give such people a break. Rather, those who make millions of dollars off of the American  people should give something back and the government should be the administrator that decides who should get what in order to create a fair and just society. Both views have
