Bryan Babcock for the Paperstore, Inc., March 2001 Introduction "He ought not to risk  his reputation by presenting to the learned body anything which appeared so much at variance with established knowledge, and withal so incredible." Thus, the British Royal Society, reflected their  understanding of Jenners lecture on smallpox vaccination. The "new," or the unknown, always appears strange or foreign to us. There are times when it may be viewed  as sheer "quackery;" yet our human history with new inventions or ideas, tells us that there was usually some critic lurking in the shadows who claimed it could not be  done, and if "it" happen it certainly would not last. Definition The basic premise of "polarity therapy" is that the human body is similar to an electronic energy field.  "Dis-ease" occurs when that energy is blocked or disturbed through trauma, or long-standing influences; the polarity -the balance between positive and negative charges of electricity which normally exists in our  body has been disturbed. According to "heall.com" (2000) the use of such physical energy fields in the human body is termed "vibrational medicine." This medical augmentation therapy, through touch  and gentle pressure, works, through the bodys own energy system. These energy points, or areas of applied pressure are similar to the ancient Chinese system of pressure points throughout  the body. Polarity in the human body is similar to an elecro-magnetic field. If it is perceived that there is a negative charge in a given area, then  through touch than will be restored to a positive and healing-enhancing charge. The polarity therapy practitioner uses pressure on these points to release
