Yet in doing this the is there are many other professions that are disregarded that are  also key to the treatment and care of the patients. One of these is the profession of the nurses, they are often not seen top their constant presence, but their  importance is equally as important as the doctor as they carry out much of the care needed, and without this the patient would suffer and recovery may be prolonged.  When we consider many of the different theories that abound in the medical world we can therefore argue that the nursing theories are as  important to the patients as many of the medical treatment theories, and one of these is the Betty Newman theory in nursing.  This looks to formulate an interactive care theory that is holistic and inclusive (Weingourt, 1998). The theory looks at the way in which patients and nurses interact, and cites that  this is on a much deeper level than simply that of medical care and the administration of practical care such as drug dispensing and bed making. The way in which  a nurse interacts with the patient can also be seen as very important in the healing process (Weingourt, 1998). An example of the  way that this deeper acceptance of the interaction and the important of the nursing relationship can be seen in the way a nurse may be able to help with the  behaviour of a patient (Weingourt, 1998).
