    the role of "queen for a day," and the wedding will be the start of the happily ever after fairy tale that began when her beloved proposed to her.  The reality is quite different, however. Planning a wedding is probably one of the most stressful times in a young womans life. Depending  on the size of the wedding, the bride-to-be is trying to juggle a variety of people and events to ensure that her day is perfect. In addition, this is probably  the one time in the young womans life that she will have advice from everyone; friends, parents and the bridegroom. And because the event is a wedding, she will feel  obligated to have to take the advice, even if she doesnt agree with it. Given that, and given the life change that is about to take place, its no wonder  that planning a wedding can be filled with stress, conflict and arguments. Its no wonder that brides come close to having nervous breakdowns over the planning of their "special day."  Wedding planning has been known to split families and to even end engagements. Arguments regularly flare up between affianced couples and both sides say things they later regret.  The best way to handle wedding planning is with conflict management rules and negotiation rules in mind. According to Negotiation: Reading, Exercises and Cases,  negotiation is pretty much an every-day experience and shouldnt be sidelined just because the event is a wedding, rather than a raise. Everyone negotiates - "negotiation is a common, everyday  activity that most people use to influence others and to achieve personal objectives," note the authors of the book (Lewicki et al, 1999). In short, then, any kind of negotiation
