    had repercussions that will change things forever. This bold statement is simply a statement of fact, given that the American citizens realize how vulnerable we really are. This  paper will discuss changes in the political system of America due to this attack, as well as Americans views of culture and politics and foreign issues. As is to  be expected, this has culminated in a whole new way to fight wars as well. FIGHTING OUR WARS: THE AFTERMATH Terrorism has changed forever the way that America and  indeed the world will fight wars from now on. Where once it was the military that was the prime target such as happened at Pearl Harbor, today it seems  the primary targets are innocent citizens and major landmarks. We no longer know when or where to expect an attack to occur. Increased security regarding all modes of transportation,  the internet, the United States Postal System and other places too numerous to mention have changed forever the way Americans used to travel freely and with little regard for their  safety. New technological systems are being tested every day that will be put in place in airports in order to ensure that no terrorist or threat to human lives  is able to board a plane. No longer do Americans feel safe at major sporting events, in large crowds, or at important well-known events - all are subject  to attacks by terrorists. Even more differences are occurring in the way the war is being fought overseas. In Afghanistan our troops are not fighting the known enemy, but  more the unknown enemy. Where once wars were fought with tanks and military troops, our enemies now are on horseback and hiding in caves. New wartime technology is
