    Number of Pages: 6

    Summary of the research paper:

In six pages the benefits of attribution research in the prediction of human behavior are discussed through an examination of the theory and its value in research studies. Five sources are listed in the bibliography.

his actions for centuries, yet still they only understand some of the most basic principles (Ajzen, 1988). One of the theories associated  with the behaviour of man is known as attribution theory. With this theory the rules followed through behavioural attitudes are discussed and investigated. To simplify; attribution theory is arguing that  we are continually striving to discover the causations of mans behavioural problems and any events that could be and in may case are linked to the attitudes (Hayes and Orrell,  1998). Human beings have a unique ability of explaining or attempting to explain anything they come across or do. This is possibly due  to the fact that we, with our parents and our children are part of a cycle that is ever continuing with the main question of "Why?". From an early  age we follow our parents into asking this question, they in turn followed theirs and so to cycle continues (Hayes and Orrell, 1998). However, as we become older and more  wiser the answers to this question becomes easier to explain to our children (Hayes and Orrell, 1998). Explaining happenings and associating it to  the attribution theory there is a simple effectual desire to explain how we act, feel and behave in every aspect of our lives (Hayes and Orrell, 1998).  For example, to offer an explanation for why events will occur can be seen as manifesting in two forms. One is the external attribution,  the second is where we have the internal attribution. The external attribution gives an assignation to an outside agent or force or to put it in such a way
