It is argued that the government should provide its elderly with everything possible, that they worked hard in American society, that they deserve  the best of care, and that certainly they should not have to decide between eating and taking prescription medication. In fact, this dismal picture is painted, taking responsibly from seniors,  for their future, and putting it on the backs of the politicians and the society that feeds them.
