    information which will make the outcome or the events seem favorable to some constituents and less so for others. In todays day and time, and with the immense potential of  advanced communication systems worldwide, it becomes evident that as technology has evolved, so too, has the evolution of propaganda emerged. The uses and abuses in the presentation of information to  the mass public is rampant. This paper will serve to underscore some of the more blatant attempts to spin information, the mechanisms of propaganda, persuasive techniques employed, the use of  the media, and disuse of information are explored and exampled. A CASE IN POINT At first blush, Cuba seems insignificant in relation to the rest of the world.  However, Cuba literally dominates all of the Caribbean territories. Anything happening there, then, affects a good deal of the Caribbean, simply by association. Therefore, controlling the types of information which  is made available to the public and the world seems to be guarded closely, in particular, by a system of government which is communistic/socialist in nature. Prior to the  Cold War, one must understand, the United States was heavily invested in Cuba. Many of the industries and even most of the property in Cuba was owned by Americans. However,  for all of that, the country was restless. This laid the foundation for Fidel Castro to sweep into the capital city, execute nearly five hundred and begin to set up  a communist way of life which the Americans found revolting. Thus, the Cold War with Cuba began. Trade ground to a halt with the United States. American assets were seized  and redistributed to the Cuban people. A plan to overthrow Castros government ended in utter failure at the Bay of Pigs. Not only did this backfire in the United States
