Wicks is interested in developing a web site in  order to build its customer base and have a strong presence on the Internet. But knowing theres more to putting up web site than simply throwing some information up  in cyberspace, the management of Wicks is interested in performing due diligence (i.e., studying all aspects of cyberspace) before making the decision to create and maintain a web site.  The purpose of this study is to examine the advantages and disadvantages of a web site for Wicks, and then based on the  results of this study, suggest recommendations and steps to take to implement the web site. Goal of a website When it comes  to developing a web site, Wicks is not much different than the average restaurant in this day and age of e-commerce. In fact, as e-commerce continues to mature, restaurant  operators are finding that the Internet plays a major role in their business strategy in areas ranging from customer service to brand building (Anonymous, 2000).  But theres more than establishing a presence on the Internet than simply deciding to create a web site and putting it online. The goals of  the website must be established -- and when it comes to a restaurant such as Wicks, there are a few goals to keep in mind. We need to ask  ourselves the following questions. First, do we want this site to be simply for advertising or do we want it to be interactive? Second, do we want this
