is the most prudent. It seems to be the most workable and makes the most sense. In exploring realism, there are several important points. One is that the world is  really a model of anarchy and there are independent states which exist. One would think that is obvious. That is of course the way one should think, but liberalism tends  to support the notion that the entire world is one and that all nations should band together and help one another. Realism is somewhat like the ideology entrenched in capitalist  notions or the entrepreneurial spirit where it is presumed that even though everyone is out for themselves, in the end, everyone wins. There is no harm done. Yet, that is  a simplistic example and does not go to the complex political agendas that are on the international relations front. There are wars and decisions on whether or not to go  to war. There are in fact many things that may be viewed in light of political ideology. Realists, unlike those who support a liberal agenda, support globalization and all  that it brings. They support the idea that individual choice is paramount. They also believe that it is okay to make money and do not apologize for it.  Realism is a good theory and it is solid, but it has its critics. It has a great deal of support, but it has shortcomings as well. Indeed, while realism  appears to be positive, there are things that the theory just does not embrace. There is a case for helping the third world, for example, but it seems to be  an agenda that is not at the forefront of the realists main page.
