pluralism, and argue that contrary to the argument offered by Gavin DCosta, religious pluralism does exist and constitutes an authentic, nuanced attitude on which to base relations between world religious
leaders. Before arguing this position, the introduction describes the various positions that the debate on pluralism encompasses. The main argument is then presented, which is followed by objection that can
be made to that argument, with the paper concluding by providing a response to the objection. Religious pluralism refers to how the validity of the worlds broad spectrum of
religious practices and beliefs is regarded. The divine nature of God, despite religious revelation, remains largely hidden and this has generated throughout human history profound disagreement concerning not only the
existence of God, but also Gods true nature.1 An exclusive view of religious pluralism holds that there can only be one true religion that is true and all others are
false.2 For example, according to this viewpoint, only those holding a particular Christian view, such as Southern Baptists, are destined for heaven and all others are doomed to hell. Softer
versions of this perspective include the possibility that judgment includes an intervention by Christ that offers everyone the opportunity to choose the truth of salvation.3 Pluralism, on the other
hand, holds that all major world religions include revelations that are true and that no religion has an inclusive claim on "final and definitive truth."4 Pluralists point out that exclusivists
