At no  time before in history has data replication been so much in the forefront of business and industry as it is today. After the tragedy of September 11, 2001, hundreds  of businesses found out firsthand about the tragedy of the loss of life; while that was obviously the most important concern in the terrorist attack, there was yet another challenge  to face. Many businesses had not been in the habit of data replication and literally lost their entire business files and records to the devastation of the destroyed buildings.  Data replication is an electronic means of backing up all computer data on a regular basis to an offsite secured area. By doing this, in the event of a  natural disaster or act of war, or any other type of action that would cause the destruction of computer files, a business that has been in the habit of data  replication can literally pick up where they left off and resume business almost immediately without skipping a beat.
