The following is  a potential request for proposal for a company which needs to implement a new software program for managing customer accounts. 1. General Information Acme Inc., is a manufacturing company selling  widgets a range of wholesalers. The industry is highly competitive and to see essential to the company is able to track and monitor customer accounts in order to provide a  high level of customer service, as well as identify any potential juvenile accounts at an early stage. The current customer said this management system is limited, account information is computerized,  but the remaining aspects of customer service records are still paper-based. The company needs to move to a computerized system, where for details of customers may be kept, which would  allow for integration into other areas of the organizations database system, helping with marketing, communication and improving sales potential. The system needs to be in place within six months of  the start date, which will be the 1st of January 2009, with a project budget of $500,000 for software, or training and support for the first year. Hardware will not  need to be required as this is already present within the company. 2. System Requirements It is envisaged that the end product will be a customer relationship management system (CRM),  which will be compatible with existing systems which are based on a Linux system, and will be accessible from both of the companies facilities, located in different states. The company  already uses an Intranet site, and is in the process of installing software to support virtual private networking (VPN). Individual PCs are equipped with either Windows Vista or Windows 2000,
