an effective and efficient way, with careful use of resources will minimising the risk exposure. The procurement process and awarding of the contract may start with the use of a
request for proposal (RFP) (Krajewski et al, 2006). For Robert Mondavi Winery this may have been a process used when looking at contractors who could install the aluminium vats, construction,
new software systems or even marketing projects. The RFP and its use will involve a range of professionals, some may be dedicated to a single job other may carry out
the functions of more than one position. To consider the position of the contract administrator and the procurement agent the first consideration has to be what is meant by a
request for proposal. If Robert Mondavi Winery decide they need to purchase in services, whatever it s for, they will have a good idea what they want to buy, including
the specifications of that purchase. The request for proposal is a document that Robert Mondavi Winery will put together and send out to particular vendors that they think may be
interested in tendering or bidding for the work. These may be sent out to companies who Robert Mondavi Winery have dealt with in the past and other companies that would
be interested in bidding for the work may also contact the company to ask for a RFP and dependant on the company they may be included (Krajewski et al, 2006).
