paced industry to enter their country. One of these is countries is Romania, with the barriers reducing following the countries ascension into the European Union on the 1st of May
2004. For any company seeking to enter this market there will be many difficulties and questions that need to be answered as traditionally the fashion trade movements have been
with the goods being produced in Romania and then exported rather than imported (Baden, 2002). This was established prior to the country becoming a full EU member with the main
goods being womens skirts, blouses and fashion dresses (Baden, 2002). 2. The Research Question The potential of Romania is great; it is a developing economy which is likely to
see growth as the result of the EU membership. The question for those looking to expand into the area to sell fashion on a retail basis is which method of
market entry will be best, The purpose of this paper will be to identify which methods or entry may be feasible for use to enter the Romanian retail clothing industry
and which are likely to be the most cost effective. The hypothesis is that to export clothing to a country such as Romania where the costs of production are
already very low, the segment targeted will need to be a high income bracket with highly differentiated fashions which would not otherwise be available. 3. Reason for the Research The
