Also a job is different than a career, a job  can lead to a career; and it is possible to have many jobs before you even decide on a career. This discussion will give you the information to help  you in the work seeking process. Information Sources: When you start looking for work, you start "beating the drums" in your particular jungle. Let friends know what kind  of work you are looking for. Talk to relatives. Even talk to someone that you know that is already working in the place where you think you might  apply. Almost every city of any size in the United States will have an employment office. Apply for work in your area. Dont have a work  area yet, but need gas money? The employment office/job service often has "day labor." You will need to apply for that in some towns - you will  need a contact phone number. In other towns you show up at the job service office before 8am, and wait until it opens, with sturdy shoes and gloves.  Simple jobs - moving boxes to someones basement, stacking firewood, cleaning out a garage will be given out to the first people at the job service door in the morning.  The person who hires you will pay you at the end of the day. Before you begin "day labor" make sure someone in the job service office has  your name, as you are starting to build a work record by being prepared to work and showing up on time, and you may want that job service employee to
