    It is Wendys policy to eschew any raising, transporting or processing of food animals, yet the company takes great strides in assuring that the suppliers who equip the fast  food chain with its menu inventory exceeds government regulations by "meeting Wendys more exacting standards pertaining to the humane treatment of animals" (Anonymous #2, 2003). Pertinent to this policy  is the inherent connection between and among humane treatment, education, employee awareness, as well as upholding practices and commitment that stretches from the first supplier to the very last member  of senior management. Moreover, worker safety reflects a significant component of a more humane approach to animal handling, inasmuch as the farm and livestock industry can become unnecessarily dangerous  if such approaches are not taken. Believing that "handling animals in a humane manner, and preventing neglect or abuse, is the right thing to do" (Anonymous #2, 2003), Wendys  is committed to preserving the fundamental essence of compassion toward those who give their lives for company profits. The companys dedication to team learning represents another important aspect of its  industry strength. Understanding the vast and various aspects of contemporary commerce requires a comprehensive awareness of what it takes to succeed in todays business world, an understanding Wendys founder,  Dave Thomas, used as the basis of his entire operation.
