    whether business-based or personal are directed toward specific audiences and addresses issues that are most relevant to their particular concerns. Obviously, the way in which a supervisor communicates with  her staff is more than likely to be significantly different from how she relates to her son who is away at college. In addition, communication designed to persuade or  promote an item or process is also going to be very different from communication that complains about the competency of NBA officiating. Key audiences in business communication include: customers; co-workers  and managers, at all levels for all levels (everybody reports to somebody else); service and support staff; vendors; directors and other stakeholders; and, the general public. In a professional  sports organization, especially ones with a high profile such as an NBA team, the emphasis on communication is even more intense since it includes the added dimension of fans, other  teams, team owners, and the sports media. Each group requires a unique format that best suits the communicator, as well as the channel of communication. In some circumstances, a  30 second image advertisement ("I love this game!") is enough to connect positively with a particular audience. In other circumstances, a more comprehensive and in-depth approach is necessary. Therefore, it  is always valuable to examine organizational communication in the context of who is receiving what message and if the right message is reaching the right audience. The Sacramento Kings --  as a Team Like most of the NBA teams from cities far less glamorous than Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, there is an added emphasis on communicating with the  hometown crowd and providing them with information that is most relevant to them rather than the national audience. It also means that they are better able to tailor their communication
