    have made it through the interview process, and have probably even been called back a second and third time. You have represented your skills and abilities well, and you know  that you have impressed everyone whom you have met at the company. You are now sitting in the chair in front of the interviewer and he or she has just  offered you the job, with a salary. If you are like most people, however, you may not know how to respond. While the temptation might be to say "yes, Ill  take it," there are several other things that need to be considered when it comes to accepting a job and negotiating a salary that both you and the company can  be comfortable with. Not taking these things into account before you accept a job offer could lead to problems on the job later on down the road.  The first reaction that most job seekers have when the offer of a job is placed in their lap is confusion and a feeling of  being caught off-guard (Espy, 2002). There is no reason, however, why anyone should be off-guard when being offered a job and one way to avoid the feeling of confusion is  to be prepared for the job offer and what you will say when you receive it (Espy, 2002). The first thing to do is to ask that the offer be  sent to you in writing, and find out when the company will need your decision (Espy, 2002). Getting the offer in writing eliminates any confusion that may occur - either  because you were so excited in getting the offer, or if the person making the offer is transferred before you are hired (Espy, 2002).
