examine Atwood as a short story writer. In the following paper we focus on her compilation of stories titled "Dancing Girls" and examine what she has done for the development
of the short story, what techniques she appears to use, and the prominence of the short story in her life. We also examine how she fairs as a short story
writer, in the publics eye, and discuss whether she is really a short story writer or a novelist. Atwood and the Short Story In terms of what Atwood
has done for the development of the short story it must first be honestly stated that her short stories are not what she is known for. This particular compilation of
