to better understand their situation in terms of oil production. Kuwait started as a little country which relied upon basically fishing for its economy. What started then as  a little, insignificant country exploded economically with the discovery of oil. In very literal terms, this discovery has changed the  face of Kuwait in every way. This country grew massively rich almost overnight. And, with that wealth, came a host of other effects. Clearly, this wealth obviously  impacted the very fabric of life in Kuwait and changed its infrastructure extensively. What was once a very poor country with poor people now had an influx of great  wealth.
