    test of time as a piece of art in many regards. It is an animated film, like all of Disneys animated films, which was created in Southern California. In the  following paper we examine the film, as though it were a piece of art, discussing Southern California, the film, and similar films created by the same company. Southern  California "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" was released in 1937 at a time when the world was relatively peaceful. We were in-between World Wars and although some tension  existed in relationship to Europe and the lingering power of the Germans, the United States was enjoying a time of peace and prosperity. Part of this prosperity came in the  form of animated film and in film in general as technology was growing. Southern California was seeing a very powerful period in history for it was the place of  dreams for many. It was a region of glitz and glamour. Hollywood was where movies were being made and all of Southern California was part of that magical reality as  it offered sunshine and opportunities for many people in many different fields. Interestingly enough, as we often associate anything with Walt Disney to the existence of Disneyland, during 1937 Disneyland  was non-existent. It would not become a reality until the middle of the 1950s. And, while it was not built in Hollywood, but rather Anaheim, it was Southern California  and was very closely linked with the region in which the animated film was created. It is perhaps helpful to note that is an individual rents or purchases the  DVD edition of this film they can see much of the time period in which the film was created.
