    film Deliverance by right? Are these white folks entrenched in prejudice and discrimination? Is it a part of the culture, even though there is a message of tolerance that is  preached? The answers to those questions are hard to decipher. After all, prejudice is inexplicable, and while it exists and its existence is obvious, many choose to sweep it under  the rug. Prejudice and intolerance exists in most suburban areas, regions that attorney and talk show host Ron Kuby likes to call Whitelandia, and while the streets are lined with  green lawns, and white picket fences, there are few people with skin color that is not pasty white in the winter. In todays world, there is segregation and much prejudice  may be found in such areas. While most people do not put signs on their lawns that suggest black people keep out, there is an idea that people of color  are not welcome. Some communities do embrace peoples of various ethnicities, but there is still a sense that in general the color line has never vanished, even after a period  of civil rights activism. Prejudice and discrimination-two concepts that go hand in hand-have been with civilization always. What is the difference between prejudice and discrimination? A student writing  on this subject will want to point out that prejudice is really a prejudgment or an idea about someone based on certain factors. In respect to race, someone might think  that Chinese people are smart or black men are prone to violence, and these are stereotypes fueled by prejudice. Discrimination sometimes results from prejudice. For example, if people hold preconceived  notions about a particular race, they will not frequent stores owned by such members or hire people who belong to a particular racial group. Discrimination, in some way, is prejudice
