    increased opportunities of better communications the advent of increased transport facilities has also changed the way in which we live, this can be seen in terms of both long and  short haul flights, and it is one of these ground breaking latter companies, Southwest Airlines, that this paper will consider with regard to their current and potential future position as  well as the expectations of the markets and environments in which they operate in and potential problems. The paper is limited in scope and dept due to the allowable length,  time available to prepare the paper and the use of secondary sources only. II. Stakeholders Stakeholders are those who have either  a direct and indirect interest in the company and the way that it operates, there are many of these, all with different expectations, these are only considered briefly; * Company  owners, also known as the shareholders will expect a healthy return on their capital * Employees will expect job stability, correct wages and the satisfaction of social and economic needs  (Huczyniski and Buchannan, 1996). * Passengers will expect relatively cheap fairs, safe and comfortable journeys without frills and to depart and arrive on time. * Travel agents will expect to  be able to contact the company easily, to be given correct information and support and paid commission. * Other airport users will expect the company to behave morally and co-operatively,  these may include other airlines, but also ground crew and companies as well as flight control and security. * Environmental groups will expect the company to reduce waste and pollution  as much as possible and make positive effects at rectification of that which is created * Government will expect the company to pay taxes and operate within its license.
