In undertaking a stakeholder analysis, the  wide range of stakeholders needs to be considered. Direct stakeholders will include the employees, management, suppliers and customers as well as the  shareholders. If a stakeholder analysis is to be conducted, these parties need to be considered. However, there are also wider groups of stakeholders that are often forgotten as they are  not directly involved. These may include special interest groups, those living near the operations, either those carried out for customers, or the companys own production. These people may be effected  by waste or transportations. Indeed, the category my be broadened out so practically everyone is a stakeholder or some sort as there is the potential for them to be effected  by the company and its operations. The primary stakeholders are the shareholders. The main purpose of any commercial enterprise is usually to  make profit, and Rentokil is no different. The company was founded 80 years ago with the intention of making a profit, and this still remains. Indeed, it was in the  pursuance of profit that a restructuring occurred in 2000 following a profits warning in 1999 (The Financial Times, 2002). The desire to satisfy profit needs resulted in the company impacting  on other stakeholders, both employees and customers, with the disposal of some none core operations. These were the less profitable as they gave the company 30% of its turnover but  only 20% of its profit (Rentokil, 2002). This increased the opportunity for better and more profitable investments. Other acquisition have also been made, with a history of making over 300
