    the sale of coffee, the sale of coffee from the company to the franchisees and the sale of coffee by the company owned stores and the franchisees to the consumer,  all undertaken in order to create a profit and satisfy stakeholders. This is the purpose in the most basic of terms, but the really is far more complex, it  is not only the coffee that is sold, it is the Starbucks experience. This supports long term sales and creates loyalty and repeats sales, in addition the sale of complimentary  products enhance the profit levels and the experience with choices for drinking and eating in the store or for the goods to be taken way. The goals and purpose  of a business do not stand alone, there are also guidelines or goals that outline the way it should be achieved and also set the goals in a more definitive  context. For this we can look at the Mission statement of Starbucks, which states "Establish Starbucks as the premier purveyor of the finest coffee in the world while maintaining our  uncompromising principles while we grow" (Starbucks, 2007). The way this is to be achieved are then outlines with six guiding principles, these include the provision of a work environment where  employees all people are treated with dignity and respect; for diversity to be embraced; for excellent standards to be present in the purchasing roasting and delivery of the coffee; to  make a positive contribution to the community and the environment; to develop satisfied customers that are enthusiastic and the ensure that the company is profitable (Starbucks, 2007). In order to  consider the company there are a number of key areas in which it can be considered. The first is the company within its environment and the influences it will feel,
