    The State of the Union Address is a tradition incorporated into the duties of the presiding President of the United States whereby every January he, or she, reports to Congress and to the people of the United States the current status of the economy, education and other important issues. It is used to review the progress of the past year and as a forum for proposals aimed at the future.
