    effective use, the organization cannot produce good results or achieve a competitive advantage. Therefore, when an organization suffers loss of talent through turnover or employees leaving for other competitors, the  results can be catastrophic. Ultimately, retaining talent should be one of the foremost concerns of leadership. Sambian Corporation, a leading design firm, has recently been suffering problems with  talent retention and as such, makes for an excellent case study in how to confront and overcome this dire problem. Sambian hasnt always been in a problematic spot, however. When  the current owner inherited the firm from her father, it was one of the top firms in the field, employing the most cutting-edge and innovative designers. Sambian was widely cited  for having foresaw the move towards the green building movement, and by the time its competitors had realized green building was the way of the future, Sambian already had dozens  of LEED certified buildings to its name. They currently enjoy worldwide familiarity with offices in San Francisco, New York, and London. However, the problem with talent retention cannot be  ignored. Most recently, the company lost one of its most highly prized designers, an individual named Tom who had received multiple rewards for his designs and was highly valued by  his co-workers, and management and leadership at all levels. Unfortunately, Tom was attracted by an effort from Sambians major competitor, J&N. Tom is also not the first designer to leave  the firm either; in recent months, the company has lost nearly half a dozen valued employees to competitors, and management is now concerned they face a trend which will only  become worse. There are many explanations for what is driving Sambians talent out the door. According to complaints registered by employees, one of the most significant factors is that
